Audiobookshelf
Audiobooks that remember where you stopped
A server for audiobooks and podcasts with apps on Android and iOS. It keeps your position per book across devices, which is the one thing a music player never gets right for a twenty-hour recording. Also downloads podcasts on a schedule and can read ebooks.

audiobookshelfInstalling it
Open the dashboard, find it in the App Store and press Install. Or from a terminal on the box:
sudo homebox install audiobookshelf
Where to open it
| Service | Port | First login |
|---|---|---|
| Audiobookshelf | :13378 | Creates the root account on the first visit — pick the password there. |
Open it at your box's address with that port — the dashboard links to it directly once it is running.
Good to know
- Point a library at /data/books or /data/audiobooks — the pool is mounted whole, so any folder in it works
- One folder per book, named Author/Title, is what its scanner expects; a flat folder of loose files imports badly
- The mobile apps connect straight to this server's address, so it needs to be reachable from wherever you listen
