Recipes without the life story

Paste a recipe URL and it imports the ingredients and method, leaving behind the four paragraphs about somebody's childhood summers. Plan a week from what you have saved and it produces the shopping list, grouped the way a supermarket is laid out.

Installing it

Open the dashboard, find it in the App Store and press Install. Or from a terminal on the box:

sudo homebox install mealie

Where to open it

Open it at your box's address with that port — the dashboard links to it directly once it is running.

Good to know

• The first account you create on the first visit becomes the admin
• Import by URL works on most recipe sites; when it does not, the manual editor takes a paste of the ingredient list and splits it for you
• BASE_URL has to match the address you use, or the share links it generates point somewhere unreachable
