PhotoPrism
Your photos, indexed where they lie
Browses and searches a folder of photos you already have, rather than asking you to import them into its own store. Face and object recognition run locally, and it reads the originals read-only — so it can sit alongside Immich on the same library without either one owning it.

sudo homebox install photoprism
Where to open it
| Service | Port | First login |

| PhotoPrism | :2342 | Signs in as admin with the password HomeBox generated at install. |
Open it at your box's address with that port — the dashboard links to it directly once it is running.
Good to know
- Originals are mounted READ-ONLY on purpose: this is an indexer, and it can run beside Immich on the same folder without the two fighting over the files
- MariaDB rather than SQLite — PhotoPrism supports both, but SQLite locks up on a large library during indexing, which is exactly when you notice
- The first index of a big library takes hours and pegs the CPU. Start it and leave it
- The admin password is generated at install:
