Plex
Your library, on every screen
The most widely supported media server there is — apps on televisions, consoles, phones and streaming sticks that Jellyfin has not reached. It reads the same library folders as everything else here, so running it alongside Jellyfin costs disk space for metadata and nothing else.

plexInstalling it
Open the dashboard, find it in the App Store and press Install. Or from a terminal on the box:
sudo homebox install plex
Where to open it
| Service | Port | First login |
|---|---|---|
| Plex | :32400 | Plex signs in with a plex.tv account rather than a local one. Claim the server on first visit. |
Open it at your box's address with that port — the dashboard links to it directly once it is running.
Good to know
- Claim the server within four minutes of first start or it stays unclaimed: put a token from plex.tv/claim into Settings and restart
- Add the library as /data/movies and /data/tv — those are the paths inside the container, not the host paths
- Hardware transcoding needs the box's GPU passed through, which this module does not do; without it a 4K transcode will use every core you have
